Ferrières-en-Brie, France / Balzers, Liechtenstein, November 29, 2023 - The Ferrières-en-Brie site in France, part of Oerlikon Balzers, a leading provider of surface solutions and a technology brand of Oerlikon, has recently undergone an audit and has been awarded Nadcap Merit Status for its entire coating technology for another 24 months. The Merit Status extends the audit cycle for re-accreditation and is ‘a sign of trust in the ongoing commitment to quality’, according to the Performance Review Institute managed by Nadcap.
Oerlikon Balzers’ customer center in Ferrières-en-Brie, France: Nadcap Merit Status for the site’s entire coating technology has been renewed for two years until August 2025.
There are numerous standards, quality and performance requirements that need to be met in order to be accredited and qualified in the aerospace industry, and they are subject to extensive testing and auditing.
Accredited with Nadcap Merit Status through August 2025
Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is a global program within the aerospace industry which validates compliance with industry standards, best practices and customer requirements. By achieving Supplier Merit Status following the audit, the Oerlikon Balzers customer center in Ferrières-en-Brie has extended its re-accreditation period by 24 months until the end of August 2025.
Oerlikon Balzers’ comprehensive portfolio for the aerospace industry includes PVD coating solutions for precision components, as well as PVD and carbon-based coatings such as diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings for aircraft system components. The site has also developed high-throughput polishing technology and an automated quality control process for high-volume parts such as aircraft engine compressor blades.
In total, four Oerlikon Balzers customer centers are Nadcap-accredited, providing world-class coating solutions and services for the aerospace industry: Milton Keynes (UK), Guelph (Canada), Niederkorn (Luxembourg) and Ferrières-en-Brie (France).
