Multi-Functional Cell Separators Combining Swelling Compensation with Thermal Insulation
Cell separators are crucial for battery safety systems, safeguarding against overheating and reducing heat transfer between adjacent cells. Cell separators enhance both battery and passenger safety and slow down cell ageing.
To prevent thermal runaway, a cell's temperature must not exceed 100 °C. Our advanced cell separators maintain optimal cell pressure for stability and feature elastic properties that accommodate cell breathing and swelling. Our component’s elastomer frame compensates for dimensional tolerances when assembled into the module or pack, while a rib structure provides lower elasticity in the center to handle swelling and breathing. This design enables the independent adjustment of the frame and rib structure, allowing elasticity to be tailored to the assembly requirements and cell characteristics.
