Our commitment with respect to human rights and the German Supply Chain Act
Oerlikon believes that all human beings should be treated with dignity, fairness and respect. Oerlikon is committed to supporting the protection and preservation of fundamental human rights, as affirmed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, throughout its worldwide operations and to ensuring that it is not involved in, or benefits from, human rights abuses. With our Oerlikon Code of Conduct, applicable to all employees and members of management bodies, we uphold our standards worldwide and define the ethical and legal framework of all our business activities.
Our human rights commitment is also inherent in our ESG strategy and measures. While Oerlikon supports all United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), eight of them are the most relevant in terms of our ability to serve the environment, our people and every individual or community with a stake in our work. These eight include amongst other “Labor management relations freedom of association and collective bargaining” (Our Governance (oerlikon.com) and “occupational health and safety” (Health & Safety (oerlikon.com)
Our human rights commitment is further accompanied by the commitment of our German group entities Oerlikon Textile GmbH & Co. KG and Oerlikon Surface Solutions Holding GmbH to respect the human and environmental rights protected by the German Supply Chain Act (GSCA) (GSCA Rights). In fulfilling our responsibility with respect to the GSCA, we rely on a systematic, integrated, risk-based approach and established monitoring and management systems. As we regard the GSCA due diligence as a continuous process, we review our GSCA due diligence mechanisms and processes regularly and will amend them where required.
