We strive to create gender equality

We strive to create gender equality

We empower women to make a positive difference in their families, communities, and the world.

Having more women in the STEM field and especially in leadership positions will make a meaningful and sustainable impact on the company`s performance. Small & simple changes can have a huge impact, contributing to a more inclusive workplace where women thrive.

We identify specific actions to continuously increase opportunities for women to grow their careers and develop personally and professionally. We would also like to support achieving a work-life balance that enables women to hold more leadership positions in the future.

"Equity isn't just a nice-to-have, it's a must-have. It acknowledges the unequal starting place, works to correct and address the imbalance, and ensures everyone has access to the same treatment, opportunities, and advancement. We can all question gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out inclusion. Together we can eradicate prejudice and work for equal rights and respect for all."

"We are committed to respect, recognize and value all LGBTIQ+ people in their diversity. Our aim is to cultivate a working environment where all employees can develop their abilities and talents, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We accept all expressions of sexuality and gender characteristics, without any fear of discrimination. We strive to promote mutual understanding, foster an open corporate culture, and work towards reducing prejudice at every level of the company. Our goal is to make Oerlikon a vibrant and appealing employer."

  • Jafles Fernandes Pacheco

Head of Group Procurement and Real Estate, Co-founder of Proud@Oerlikon

"Promoting inclusiveness at the workplace for LGBTIQ+ employees is crucial because it ensures that everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, feels safe, respected, and valued. When employees feel included and accepted, they are more likely to be productive, creative, and engaged in their work. In contrast, exclusion and discrimination can lead to stress, mental health issues, and decreased job satisfaction, which can harm both the individual and the organization. Creating an inclusive workplace for LGBTIQ+ employees is not only the right thing to do, but it also benefits the company's bottom line by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion."

Parents@Oerlikon

Parents@Oerlikon

Oerlikon, as an inclusive employer, understands and respects the diverse roles its employees hold in their personal lives - one of the most significant being that of parenting and caregiving. We believe that acknowledging this pivotal aspect is key to fostering a supportive work environment. The Parents@Oerlikon Employee Resource Group (ERG) is committed to promoting a work-life balance and providing a platform for the voices of our employee parents and caregivers, known as #VoiceOftheParents.

The Parents@Oerlikon ERG is designed to ensure that our working parents and caregivers are seen, heard, and effectively supported within the company. This endeavor aligns with our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion and ensures that our parents and caregivers are not only recognized but also celebrated. By integrating the needs and perspectives of these employees into our organizational strategies and policies, we aim to make Oerlikon a place where individuals can flourish in their careers while also thriving in their personal responsibilities.

"My vision for the Parents' Employee Resource Group (ERG) is to serve as the Voice of the Parents. We aim to build strong partnerships with parent colleagues across the globe, providing a platform to listen, share, facilitate networking opportunities, and offer support. We also strive to celebrate the rewarding experience of being a parent at Oerlikon.

As a Recruiting Manager and a mother of two boys, I understand the unique challenges and triumphs that come with balancing work and family life. It's my sincere hope to play a crucial role in promoting our Parents' ERG internally and externally. My ultimate goal is to welcome more parent colleagues to our organization, providing them with the understanding and support they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives."

  • Christine Francis

"Entering motherhood was challenging both physically/emotionally yet extremely fulfilling. As a full-time working mother of two little girls, I have gained lots of valuable experience in juggling both career and family. My main aim is to help another parent with the daily struggle of balancing both work and family by sharing my experiences/thoughts or simply by providing a listening ear.

I am also motivated to advocate for the needs and interests of working parents in Oerlikon, to raise awareness about the challenges faced by working parents and to promote understanding and empathy throughout the organization."

MultiGen

MultiGen

With this ERG, we aim to bridge the gap between different generations and learn to work together in a healthy way and face future challenges in a changing world of work. Understand the needs of professionals from each Generation Z, Gen Y, Gen X and Baby Boomer generation to develop tailor-made strategies for their specific needs.

Different generations bring different strengths, competencies, expectations and synergies to the team. At the same time, a mix of generations in the team also demands a lot from the managers, who often belong to a different generation group. We therefore hope that this ERG will also be beneficial to managers who are working with multi-generation teams.

In order to remain attractive as a company and for our employees to value the corporate service offerings we want to find out what tools & trainings our company should offer.

  • Farah Rajda

Sr. Executive HR Manager, Co-founder of MultiGen ERG

"As an HR professional, I am inclined to deal with such topics in my regular work as well but I have always felt that more attention needs to be paid to this subject. Working in India, where there are people from all backgrounds & cultures this subject has always been a struggle. I believe that if employees from different generations can find a way to work together, the organization will benefit to a great extent. Being an alumni of OMF+ I am always looking for ways to put into action my beliefs, ideas & hone my skills and there is no better way than this ERG to develop my leadership skills as well as I work closely on a subject that I am passionate about."

  • Martin Fernandez Benz

Global Supply Chain Manager, Co-founder of MultiGen ERG

"I am curious by nature and I consider that I still have many years ahead of me, during which I will work probably with younger people than myself, also in my private life, as a father of two Teenagers. I wonder how to maximize results and form high-performance teams together with colleagues from the new generations, in a way that we combine experience and ambition with new technologies, we promote the exchange of ideas and perspectives. My aim is to help raise awareness and develop models that promote mutual understanding and enrichment and foster the creativity of the teams, supporting the well-being of the company and of the employees, independent of their position or professional stage."
